Latest News - Summer Festivals Over
Last summer was great with all the festivals that went on.
It always seems like the highlight of the year for me. I haven't kept a diary of them this year as there seems so little time with weekly festivals and daily band rehearsals.
The audience at Fylde Folk Festival is always a dream to perform to.
Many great opportunities came out of it, including the 'Radio Lancashire' gig described below.
MACfest was great as usual and on the same night as my birthday (so it is one to make note of). Many new artists and bands were there like usual as well as the regulars that make the festival what it is. I was there with my band this year and it was a very nice gig. We also played Solfest, which was our first festival performance as a band and also seemed to be successful.
I wrote about High Head Green Gathering a few months back and I really enjoyed that gig as well, I think that was the first festival of the summer.
Langdale Charity Folk Festival was fantastic! Next year it seems I'll be playing the 'Saturday Evening Concert' in the hotel dining room which will be seated for about 150. I am looking forward to that.
After headlining at two folk clubs (Guisborough and York), I supported the legendary saxophonist, Snake Davis, at Wigton Market Hall on 12th November.
Snake Davis is one of the UK's Leading Saxophonists and has recorded with many World famous artists.
M-People, Lisa Stansfield, Ray Charles, Tom Jones, George Michael and Paul McCartney are just a few of them.
On Friday 19th November I was the Studio Guest on the 'The Drift' at Radio Lancashire. Over the course of an hour I performed 5 live numbers and chatted to presenter Phil Brown.
I really enjoyed the experience. Phil is doing a great job in his support of live music in the North West.
My plans now are to record an album in time for May, perhaps record another one after that with the band, get a few more gigs at Folk clubs and prepare myself for next summer!
